He has his own film genre, the Films of Tennessee Williams. Baby Doll, Suddenly Last Summer, he's credited as contributing to Visconti's version of Senso. Night of the Iguana was a wonderful entertainment with another fine performance by Sue Lyon (Ava Gardner, Richard Burton, Deborah Kerr, the old man finishing his final poem while trying my patience to the point where I love him by the end.) The Fugitive Kind brought Anna Magnani to the US but it struck me as rather a disaster.
I played pre-show music for a Tennessee Williams Short Play evening at Manhattan Theatre Source and was proud to include Town Without Pity in the set list, only because it captures the restlessness of the 50's as defined by Mr. Williams. John Waters has picked up where Mr. Williams left off.
