2007 was an unusual year in that it did not begin with
great expectations and yet during which a wide range of creative and
value-adding events developed, including two shows produced under actor’s
equity showcase rules, and a continuation of the ASCAP Plus Award
acknowledgement to Peter Dizozza for concert performances of songs.
Cinema VII’s primary asset is the creative output of
Peter Dizozza. Cinema VII
holds and administers the worldwide rights to a wide variety of musical
properties and over 270 songs, adding value to them with performances directed
toward developers and general audiences.
In October of 2006 At the Dramatist Guild Frederick Lowe
Room we introduced an idea called 2.2.2. In
August of 2007, its full script and score ran for 8 performances at Manhattan
Theatre Source under the more attention-gathering title, “Hermaphroditism
Through the Ages.” It was a
collaborative effort between Peter Dizozza, Maria Micheles and wordsmith Ed
Mallin. It was a composite of
threes, illustrated by a simple graph.
TentagatneT, a play from the La Mama Experiments ’05 Play
Reading Series was chosen to receive a full production for four performances at
La Mama directed by favorite director George Ferencz. New York Magazine made it a Critic’s Pick.
This was the first year under what appeared to be a
financially burdensome residence/ ownership situation, resulting in a moderately
smooth financial balance that at least provided the illusion of equity.
Peter Dizozza resides as a shareholder in a Coop Apartment Building at
321 East 12th Street. He
joined its board in 2007 and, in addition to leading the refinancing of its
underlying mortgage, has helped turn the building into a friendly place. The coop consists of two mirror buildings of 70
“Class A” residential units, and 10,000 square feet of land.
He holds a 2% interest. His
purchase price of 675,000 currently has an outstanding 30-year loan of 405,000
at 6.5%, and a 0% interest loan principal of 25,000 coming due during 2008.
Theoretically, there is some equity there.
In December of 2007, the mirror apartment at 315 East 12th
Street sold for $762,000.
Important people joined the expanding galaxy of stars that
assist and inspire.
SAM MOREE
The sculptor/holographic artist Sam Moree expanded his work
in photography while documenting the year’s activities, beginning in April of

CINEMAVII.COM
The Cinema VII website is purely for reference.
In other words, I have no information on traffic there.
However, it provides pages that list the entire cinema vii catalogue of
projects including commissions and collaborations, and the entire list of songs.
It also lists the Cinema VII Event Horizon which includes over 50 entries
for 2007.
The sections of the website are as follows:
Gallery, Projects, Galaxy, Songs, Sunrise and Sunset Event Horizons,
Timeline and Lynx.
REARWINDOWS.NET
AVIDFORINFO.COM
The other two sites lie mostly dormant but have inspiring
domain names and are available for collaborative development.
They are avidforinfo.com and rearwindows.net.
The hosts of Rearwindows.net provide 10 gigabytes of storage which allow
it to be an offsite repository.
While recent material is sounding better than ever, the
fact appears to be that once you pass on the budgetary restraints, which in fact
diminish the lasting quality of the more superficially commercially viable
material available worldwide, you find that there is a consistency of
entertainment value throughout the entire Cinema VII catalogue,
However, part of the art of entertainment is the ease and comfort of its
ride. We will continue to increase
the friendliness of presentation.
Work providing immediate financial return expanded
somewhat. Many surprises and a
variety of odd jobs to increase the money needed to cover the luxury of living
alone in a moderately large little apartment/cottage in the East Village.
It would help, of course, if these living arrangements resulted in
tremendous productivity. While there is some doubt in my mind as the seconds
pass, the year in review provides great substance to support the claim of
productivity.
There was plenty of singing with great singers, which was
most encouraging. Of course, it
helps if the sound of my own singing registers as a notes to the listener, and
that is an ability acquired over time. 14
shows were at SideWalk, and most of them were very well attended.
On the opera level, a surprise collaboration with Adriano
and a reuniting with the great mezzo soprano Camille Capasso provided hope for
the future.
The Cinema VII film catalogue includes prints of other’s
films, with limited use that helps lift them from obscurity and provide
foundation for original material.
We restored the phonograph system in addition to the ¼
inch home tape system for playback.
Peter Dizozza acted as liaison with the City for the Olive
Juice Huggabroomstock Concert in Maria Hernandez Park.
He is Chair of the New York City Bar Association
Entertainment Committee.
A Council Member of the Lambs Club.
You’ll hear Peter Dizozza’s piano on a new album by the
band, The Voyces, called Kissing Like It’s Love.
