Alex Barnett, lawyer by day, comedian by night, Alex Barnett has performed stand-up comedy all over New York City. He has played Caroline's on Broadway, Gotham Comedy Club, StandUp NY, and the Improv Café. In addition to his law practice and stand up comedy, Alex has written a novel and several plays. He makes his debut here tonight on the City Bar Stage.

Peter W. Dizozza, who takes over as Chair of the Entertainment Committee in September, 2006, is an attorney and creative artist driven by a need to collide and reconcile individual "vision" and "experience" with collective reality and the ever-elusive objective reality. This need arose from his foregone, unproven and perhaps inanely misguided conclusion that reality exists apart from our perception of it. As Barry L. Cohen of "The New Music Connoisseur" put it, "Here's a fellow with musical ideas in his soul." Peter's musical activities have continued from childhood to the present day. He enjoys accompanying and supporting singers, priding himself in helping them sound great! Song writing and other writing have also been constants in his life, tracing his curious path. Peter's albums include, "Pro-Choice on Mental Health," "Songs of The Golf Wars," and the "Prepare to Meet your Maker" soundtrack recordings. Learn more about Peter on his website https://www.cinemavii.com.  (That was last year's resume... updated as follows:  Peter W. Dizozza , who takes over as Chair of the Entertainment Committee in September, 2006, is an attorney/negotiator dabbling in the seven arts at every opportunity. Peter’s albums include, "Pro-Choice on Mental Health," "Songs of The Golf Wars," and the "Prepare to Meet Your Maker" soundtrack recordings. As a playwright he is an ongoing contributor to La Mama's Experiments Reading Series. The website documenting his creative activities is https://www.cinemavii.com.)

Steven Edwards, is a past Federal Bar Council President and a partner at Hogan & Hartson. Steve, the son of classical musicians, rebelled by trading his violin for a guitar and playing in rock and roll bands throughout high school and college, including gigs with Chuck Berry, the Everly Brothers, Simon & Garfunkel and the Dave Clark Five. Steve is the composer of the Rock Opera "There's Something Afoot," which tells the tale of a murder trial and missing body parts. The Rock Opera was most performed at the City Bar on October 29, 2004. Steve is working on a second opera: "Rudy - The Rock Opera."

Vivienne Gilbert, is an Estates and Gifts attorney, with a specialty in business succession. She is licensed in the New York Courts, the Federal Tax Court and the Federal Supreme Court. Vivienne received her JD from New York Law School. Vivienne is also licensed to sell most securities (ChFC, CLUS, American College Registered Principal). Vivienne is a former contributing editor to, The Bulletin, New York Association of Life Underwriters, Chapter on Wills for the Handbook of Estate Planning, University of Texas, Dow-Jones Irwin, contributor to CLU Sections, Guest Columnist, The National Underwriter, New York State Bar Association, and she is an Elder Law Attorney. Vivienne is a member of The Lambs, a professional theatrical club in midtown Manhattan, where she can be heard singing cabaret at Low Jinks, on Friday nights.

Ronald S. Goldbrenner is presently in private practice in New York City where he concentrates on keeping his practice as private as possible. After you see him perform you will understand why and agree. His qualifications for the practice of law include driving a taxi in New York (when he tells you where to get off he really knows what he is talking about) and having lived within the City limits of New York all his life (when he tells you who has the best pasta, pastrami and dim sum, he really knows what he is talking about). We are unable to disclose for whom Mr. Goldbrenner worked because when they paid him to leave, they always insisted on confidentiality agreements precluding Mr. Goldbrenner from disclosing that he ever had anything to do with those companies. It was bad enough he worked for them -- they didn't want to have to admit it too. Somehow, Mr. Goldbrenner's employers were always far more anxious to pay him to leave than to pay him to stay. Since you aren't paying him at all, you have no choice, but to stay and listen.

If this sounds familiar it is because Goldbrenner used this same bio last year and is too lazy to provide anything new.

Bonnie Beth Greenball is the Executive Director of the Judicial Campaign Ethnics Center of the Office of Court Administration. She has been in every City Bar show since 12th Night in 1997. An avid theatregoer all her life, her participation on the Entertainment Committee has fostered her love of performing on the stage.

Israella F. Mayeri, a New York State Support Magistrate in Kings County Family Court, has recently renewed her passion for piano, which she studied as a child. A frequent performer in the Park Slope and Cobble Hill Sections of Brooklyn, she is pleased to return tonight for the third time to the City Bar Stage.

Nelson Lin, when not conjuring magic, serves as Managing Director of an investment management firm serving high net worth clients. An attorney and entrepreneur, he serves on the boards of various businesses. His other talents include piano, cello, tennis, yoga, handwriting analysis and self-promoting bios.

Tyrone Mark Powell, is a litigation attorney, who previously served as a federal law clerk, as an associate with a large New York City law firm, and as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of New York. He is a member in good standing of the bars of Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New York and the District of Columbia. He is also a professional pianist, vocalist, published songwriter, arranger and producer, whose original music and recordings have been used in film and television, including, "Witness to the Mob," "All My Children," "One Life to Live," "The Young and the Restless" and "The Office". He is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS), Film & TV Music Network and National Academy of Popular Music.

Frances E. Scanlon, is an artful attorney and member of the Entertainment Committee for sweet sixteen [plus] years and was recently featured in THE SOPRANOS wedding scene.

Maryse Selit is in-house counsel at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in New York. Maryse earned law degrees from University of London and Cambridge. She also studied law at the Sorbonne in Paris, and has two L.L.Ms from College of William & Mary and NYU School of Law. Maryse grew up in Sri Lanka and loves to sing, especially country and western music. Tonight marks her second appearance in Talent Night on the City Bar stage.

Jennifer A. Shafer specializes in civil litigation in NYC, where she remains a fixture in the courts. Although she finds trial work most appealing she also devotes her time to fund- raising for children's charities, dancing the Argentine Tango and conversing in French and Spanish. This is her third appearance dancing the Argentine Tango on the City Bar stage.

Martha Cohen Stine, Chair of the Entertainment Committee, is a partner in the matrimonial law firm Cohen Hennessey & Bienstock P.C. Marti has performed in the City Bar annual shows for many years and also serves as producer and musical director. Marti is a member of The Lambs, a theatrical club, where she sings cabaret on Friday nights. She has performed with Village Light Opera Group, Island Lyric Opera, and The New York Choral Society.

Rita Wasserstein Warner, is head of the matrimonial department at Coblence & Warner. She is a graduate of the NYU School of Law and has specialized in matrimonial law for over 25 years. She is prominent in many bar associations, having recently finished a three-year term as Co-Chair of the Matrimonial Law Section of New York County Lawyers Association and is currently on the Board of Directors of that Association. Rita has appeared in annual productions of the Entertainment Committee for over 20 years. She is happy to be performing once again in Talent Night on the City Bar Stage.

Kenneth T. Wasserman is a single practitioner, having a focus in commercial and general litigation, including estate practice. He is a former Chair of the Committee on Entertainment. He is pleased to be singing a duet once again on the City Bar stage with Rita Warner.

Nancy Zehner is a former civil litigator and the founder and President of The Artemis Group, a premier attorney search firm based in NYC. Nancy has had a lifelong passion for music -- voice, piano, oboe and violin. She appeared in the lead, playing Hon. Carmen Beauchamp Ciparick, of the Entertainment Committee's most recent Twelfth Night on January 6, 2006. She is delighted to be singing once again in this Lawyers' Talent Night production!
