As you may know all too well, "The Lords of Flatbush" is a slice-of-life movie in which Sylvester Stallone and Henry Winkler co-star with Perry King, Paul Mace, Susan Blakely and others. Martin Davidson and Stephen Verona directed and wrote with Gayle Gleckler, with acknowledgment going to Mr. Stallone for additional dialogue.

With "Grease" on Broadway, "The Lords of Flatbush" was either responsible for tipping off, or rode the rising crest of, a 1950's nostalgia craze, from which we have never fully recovered.

This film was shot in 16mm.  When I find out why, I will update this page, but for now suffice it to say, as stills from the final print show, guests in the wedding scene (I think shot in Connecticut in August, 1973) include Monica Dizozza and me, Peter Dizozza.  Thanks to her wearing a dress made by our grandmother, Margaret Carillo, Monica looks like she might actually belong to the period, whereas, I, wearing wire rimmed glasses, seem firmly entrenched in either the 70's or the 20's.  .
