THE LAST DODO
by Peter Dizozza
Live on Stage!
Yuko Nii, Founder
* A brief history of the Williamsburg Art & Historic Center: Founded by artist Yuko Nii in October of 1996, the WAH is located in the former Kings County Savings Bank, a landmark of Williamsburg that has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1980. While a beautiful setting and a stunning piece of history, the building is nearing 150 years old and requires extensive on-going restoration to keep it. Should you wish to donate, you can find out more information here. While donations from large, successful corporations such as Santander Consumer USA go a long way, any amount is always appreciated and put to good use. The art gallery is open to visitors Friday through Monday from 1:00 - 5:00PM and features work on loan from all over the world and from both prominent and up-and-coming artists. It is also worth touring the building itself and see a bit of what the lives of the rich and famous in the early 1900's was like. Should you want to host an event, performance or exhibit of your own, the first floor is available for rent for any duration from hours to months.
